Common use of Pregnancy Clause in Contracts

Pregnancy. A unit member who is pregnant will be entitled upon request to a long-term leave to begin at any time after the commencement of pregnancy. The unit member shall notify the Human Resource Services Division in writing of the desire to take such leave, and, except in cases of emergency, shall give such notice at least thirty (30) days prior to the date on which the leave is to begin. The notice shall include a physician's statement certifying the unit member's pregnancy.
