Common use of Power Failure Clause in Contracts

Power Failure. In the event of a power failure in a section of the operations, employees will continue to work as long as health and safety of employees are not affected and access to the working area is available from another hoist. In the event of power failure, crews will remain on the job for a period of fifteen (15) minutes, for which time they will be paid. If power is not restored at the end of this fifteen (15) minute interval, operations will be closed down upon appropriate notification by the Company. In the event no notification is given and the employees remain on the job, those employees will continue to receive wages. Article 17.1, Reserve for Inclement Weather, shall not be applied on shutdowns due to power failure.
