Plain Clothes. Members assigned to plain clothes or administrative duty shall be permitted to purchase civilian clothing and components up to the reimbursable amount of nine hundred fifty dollars ($950.00) effective January 1, 2008. Clothing selected shall be at the discretion of the member but shall be moderately conservative in style, cut and color, and shall be acceptable to the local business community. If not caused by negligence or misconduct of the member, any civilian clothing and/or components damaged to the point of unserviceability or lost, in the line of duty, shall be replaced by the City as soon as possible at no charge to the current or subsequent allowance. Replacement does not include normal wear and tear.

Plain Clothes. All members permanently assigned to plain-clothes duties shall be reimbursed up to one thousand dollars ($1000.00) clothing allowance upon assignment. A reimbursement up to three hundred seventy-five dollars ($375.00) allowance shall be paid upon completion of each six-month service in plain-clothes duties beginning with the 18th month of service and every 6 months thereafter. Allowance shall not exceed seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) in any one year. Officers being reassigned and having completed partial periods shall be reimbursed at one-twelfth of the yearly rate for each month of service completed in plain-clothes duties.
Plain Clothes. The normal working attire of officers assigned to the Plain Clothes Division shall be civilian clothes and such officers shall receive the above allowances from the City. All bargaining unit members shall have and maintain in good order the regular uniform as specified by the Police Department.
Plain Clothes. Uniformed EMPLOYEES who are expected to wear civilian clothing from time to time in the performance of their job will receive an annual clothing allowance of S 550.00 dollars for the acquisition, repair, replacement and upgrade of said clothing. This allowance will be provided through payroll once a year and any tax ramifications will be the responsibility of the EMPLOYEE. The EMPLOYEE must work for a 12-month period to be eligible for this allowance.
