Placement on Step. At the time of initial employment, a teacher with prior teaching experience shall be placed on the step corresponding to the number of years of teaching experience in state accredited public and private schools for which state teacher certification is required. (2008) All teachers who teach at least one-half of the duty day as defined in Article 6 shall move vertically on the salary schedule, one step for each year in which they teach half time or more. Teachers who have taught for a full day as defined in Article 5 for one-half or more of the duty year as defined in Article 6 and teachers on extended contract who have taught for one-half or more of the appropriate individual contract shall be advanced one-half step on the appropriate column on the salary schedule. It is understood that teachers who have taught five (5) or fewer days less than the appropriate half year shall be considered to have taught for one-half year or more.

The teacher shall qualify for one step for each year of teaching experience. The teacher shall move to the next higher step for each subsequent year or major fraction thereof of teaching experience under a contract with the District, except as otherwise agreed.
Placement on Step. During the 2022-2023 year, licensed professional staff shall be paid in accordance with the attached salary schedule. As used in said salary schedule, BS shall mean a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree; MS shall mean a Master of Science, Master of Arts or Equivalent degree. Hours shall mean semester hours earned by licensed staff subsequent to being awarded BS, BA or equivalent degree: provided further that in order for said hours to be counted for column placement on said salary schedule said hours must meet at least one of the following requirements.

Placement on Step. At the time of initial employment in USD 262 each teacher shall be placed on the highest number full step for which he/she is qualified. Partial years of experience will be rounded back to a full step when full credit for past experience is allowed. The teacher shall normally qualify for advancement of one step for each year of public school teaching experience outside of the district, rounded back to the nearest full step. However, the district reserves the right to make initial placement on a lower step if such experience was not contracted and/or is not recent. After initial placement on the teacher salary schedule, teachers shall move to the next highest full step for each contracted year of full or part time teaching in the district. In the event a teacher is hired by the district on a step lower than their previous year’s experience, the teacher will be advised of the reasons for this lower placement on the salary schedule.

  • Placement on Salary Schedule The following rules shall be applicable in determining placement of a teacher on the appropriate salary schedule:

  • Placement on the Secondary Recall List (a) Regular status employees who are separated from the service of the State in good standing (meaning no record of economic disciplinary sanctions in his/her personnel file) by layoff or transferred outside State government due to intergovernmental transfer shall, in addition to their right to be placed on the Agency Layoff List, be given the option of electing placement on the Secondary Recall List by geographic area for other AFSCME-represented bargaining units which utilize the same or successor classification from which they were laid off. The term of eligibility of candidates placed on the list shall be two (2) years from the date of layoff. When an employee is prohibited from participating in the secondary recall process due to the presence of an economic disciplinary sanction in his/her personnel file, that employee may request and shall be placed on the Secondary Recall List for the remainder of the two (2) years eligibility following layoff once the discipline has remained in the file for the length of time required by the agency’s contract.

  • Assignment on Return On return from leave, a participant will be assigned to his former position unless it is no longer available. In such a case the employee will be given a comparable job, if possible, or the layoff provisions will be applied.

  • Placement on the Salary Schedule All teachers shall be placed on the appropriate step in the salary schedule taking into consideration the following:

  • Payment on Death If an employee dies who was entitled to accumulated annual leave under the provisions of this Article, the heirs of such deceased employee shall be paid an amount of money equal to the number of unused hours of annual leave earned or accrued multiplied by the hourly rate of such deceased employee.

  • Payment on Termination If an employee is terminated after the end of a year of employment, the employee is deemed to have been given any untaken leave from the date of termination and shall be paid for that leave accordingly. The employee shall also be paid for any public holidays falling within the period of leave in addition to payment for the leave. If an employee is terminated before the end of a full year of employment, the employee shall be paid pro-rata annual leave based on the period of service.

  • Effective Date of Settlements ‌ Settlements reached at any step of the grievance procedure in this article, other than Clause 8.11, shall be applied retroactively to the date of the occurrence of the action or situation which gave rise to the grievance, but not prior to the effective date of the agreement in effect at the time of the occurrence or the date set by a board of arbitration.
