Common use of Physician Incentive Plans Clause in Contracts

Physician Incentive Plans. The Contractor shall obtain approval from the Department prior to implementing a Physician Incentive Plan. A Physician Incentive Plan is any compensation arrangement to pay a physician or physician group that may directly or indirectly have the effect of reducing or limiting the services provided to any beneficiary. For purposes of this definition, the words shall have the meanings set forth in 42 C.F.R. § 422.208(a). The Department shall approve the Contractor's request only if the proposed Physician Incentive Plan complies with all applicable federal and state regulations.
