Physical Fitness Requirements. In order to maintain efficiency in the Police Department and to protect the public, the City may establish reasonable physical fitness requirements for employees. Providing there is a good faith effort by the employee there shall be no discipline attached to an employee's failure to meet these requirements. However, action may be taken with respect to an employee, irrespective of his/her ability to meet reasonable physical fitness requirements, if in fact that employee’s health interferes with his/her ability to perform his/her job. Upon submission of a receipt, the City shall reimburse an employee a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per fiscal year for a health club membership, as reviewed and approved by the City.

Physical Fitness Requirements. In order to maintain efficiency in the Fire Department, to protect the public and to reduce insurance costs and risks, the City, working with its certified fitness coordinators and the assigned representative(s) of the Union, may establish a reasonable on duty physical fitness program. Employee participation, while encouraged, shall be voluntary.
Physical Fitness Requirements. In order to maintain and improve efficiency in the Police Department, to best protect the public and to reduce insurance costs and risks, the Village may establish a reasonable physical program, which shall include individualized goals. While employees may be required to participate in any such program, no employee will be disciplined for failure to meet any goals that may be established as long as the employee makes a good faith effort to meet any such goals. Physical Fitness Requirements. The physical fitness program for employees shall be carried out in accordance with the District's physical fitness program. The Union shall be given thirty (30) days advance notice of any changes the District proposes to make to the physical fitness program during the term of this Agreement. If the Union wishes to bargain over any such proposed changes, it shall give written notice to the District within ten (10) days of the Union's receipt of such notice of proposed changes, in which case any changes in the program shall be subject to the mid-term bargaining procedure set forth in Article XXI.
