Common use of Personnel Selection Leave Clause in Contracts

Personnel Selection Leave. Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process, for a position within NAV CANADA, the employee is entitled to leave with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as NAV CANADA considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his or her presence is so required. Where such attendance, or necessary travel time associated therewith, occurs on the employee’s regularly scheduled day of rest the employee shall be allowed time off with pay, equivalent to the time required for attendance at such a meeting including reasonable travel time, up to a maximum of the employee’s normal scheduled daily hours of work, to be taken at a time mutually acceptable to the employee and his or her supervisor. Should such time off not be utilized by the end of the fiscal year, the unused portion will be paid off at the employee’s straight-time rate in effect at that time.
