Personal salary element. 1. A personal salary element may be paid to the employee based on the employee’s personal competencies, work outcomes and ability to collab- orate. The grounds for the personal salary element shall be fair and en- couraging, and the employee must be able to affect the factor on which the personal salary element is based through their individual work performance. Application instruction: Factors on which the personal salary element is based may in- clude features such as the quality of work, diligence, work per- formance and effectiveness, innovation, initiative, collaboration and interaction skills, ability and willingness to develop, and flexibility.

Personal salary element. In addition to the salary based on job requirements, the employee is paid a personal salary element the amount of which is determined within four months after starting the employment. If the employee works repeatedly for the same employer, the said salary element is determined as soon as possible, but at the latest when employments of at least one month amount to an employment relationship of four months. If the personal salary element has already been determined for the employee during his or her previous employments under the same employer, it will be paid from the start of the new employment. The amount of the personal salary element shall be at least equal to the one paid during previous employment. In applying the personal salary element, the enhancement of the company’s competitiveness, as well as maintaining a motivating job requirement system, shall be taken into account. The personal salary element shall be at least 3 % of the employee’s salary in his or her job requirement group. If the personal salary element is not determined in accordance with the collective agreement, it is at least 4 %. The amount of the personal salary element is determined by the employer, but it shall be based on annual performance appraisals between the employer and each employee. Based on the performance appraisals, the employee can develop his or her proficiencies in accordance with the goals set, and thus enhance his or her personal salary element. The performance appraisals should be open, and during the appraisals, the employee’s current situation in terms of proficiency, education and his or her adaptation to the work community shall be covered.
