Personal Reasons. Employees shall be granted up to six (6) days each school year for personal reasons. However, such absences for personal reasons shall be charged only to accrued sick leave, and leave for personal reasons shall be non-cumulative. Employees shall not be required to give reasons for personal leave, except that the leave is for "personal reasons."
Personal Reasons. Except as stated in Section 1(e) of this Article, an employee may be granted a leave of absence for personal reasons without pay up to fifteen (15) days upon application to the Company in writing, provided the employee presents evidence acceptable to the Company that such leave of absence is for a reasonable purpose and provided further that such leave of absence shall not unreasonably interfere with operations. Applications for leave shall be made in writing to the Director of Health Services and must be approved by the President, or delegate. Should an application for personal leave be denied, the applicant shall be provided, upon request, with the reasons for such denial in writing.

Such requests are to be made as far as possible in advance, and the said Division Director or designate will reply in writing except in cases of emergency.
