Personal Property Damage. A fund not to exceed $1,500 shall be established for the reimbursement of instructional personnel for damage to personal property resulting from assault or while restoring order in cases of riots, student fights, or general disorder by one or more students on school property or at a school approved function. Instructional personnel seeking reimbursement under the provision of this policy must file an employee accident report according to guidelines established for this purpose. Failure to file such a report within 10 working days of the occurrence shall disqualify a teacher from receiving reimbursement. The investigation of claims for reimbursement and approval of payment shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent of Schools or his designee. Reimbursement shall be made within 15 days of the date of approval.
