Two days unpaid emergency carer’s leave is available to weekly employees if their paid leave entitlement has been exhausted. The two unpaid days are also available to casual employees.

Personal Leave (Sick/Carer’s Leave a) Personal leave may be taken when: - the employee is ill or injured (sick leave); or - the employee is required to provide care or support to a member of the employee’s household or a member of the employee’s immediate family (as defined in the Sex Discrimination Act 1984) who requires care or support because of a personal illness or injury or an unexpected emergency (carer’s leave). An employee absent from their normal rostered shift due to reasons set out above shall be paid at the ordinary rate of pay up to a maximum of seven (7) hours for a dayworker, a maximum of ten (10) hours for 10 Hour Daywork and 10 Hour Day and Afternoon Shift roster employees, and a maximum of twelve point five (12.5) hours for 7 Day Continuous roster employees during such absence under the following conditions.
Personal Leave (Sick/Carer’s Leave. Full-time and part-time Employees will accrue and may take paid personal leave in accordance with the relevant provisions of the NES. An Employee's entitlement to paid personal/carer's leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the Employee's ordinary hours of work and accumulates from year to year. In summary, the legislation provides that: • full-time Employees may accrue up to 10 days of paid personal leave each year of service, with pro-rata accruals for part-time Employees. • untaken personal leave accumulates from year to year. • Employees may use personal leave to be absent from work due to personal illness (sick leave). • Employees may use personal leave to care for an immediate family member, or a member of the Employee's household, who requires care or support because of a personal illness, or injury or an unexpected emergency (carer's leave). • Employees may take an additional two days of unpaid carers leave on each occasion if the Employee has exhausted the paid carers' leave entitlement. • Employees may be required by the Employer to provide evidence of the need to take personal leave (such as a certificate from a registered health practitioner, or if that is not reasonably practicable a statutory declaration) that would satisfy a reasonable person. The above is a summary and does not set out all of the entitlements and obligations under the NES. For the avoidance of doubt, Employees will not receive less than their entitlement under the NES. The entitlements of casual Employees to unpaid personal leave are set out in the NES. In addition, under this Agreement, the Employer requires an Employee to notify the Employer as soon as possible if the Employee cannot attend work due to personal illness or to care for an immediate family member or a member of the Employee's household. The Employer, at its discretion, may permit an Employee to take additional unpaid leave or to take time off work and make up the time later at the ordinary rate of pay. Accrued Personal Leave balances are displayed on Employee Payslips as at the corresponding pay period.
Personal Leave (Sick/Carer’s Leave. Employees (other than casuals) shall be entitled to 76 hours per annum as paid personal leave which may be for personal illness or to take care of an ill family member or member of the employees’ household. This leave is cumulative and if exhausted, the employee may also access a further two days of unpaid carers leave. The employer may require the employee to furnish documentary evidence in the form of a medical certificate. Personal Leave taken will be deducted from accrued sick leave entitlements. Compassionate Leave Employees, including casual workers working regular hours are entitled to two days paid compassionate leave to visit a seriously ill or dying relative, or to attend a funeral. The leave can be taken in two consecutive days or in distinctly separate periods if the employer and employee agree. The two days are available to employees on each occasion the need arises.
