Personal leave during annual leave. An employee who is certified as unfit for duty because of personal illness by a medical practitioner approved by the Employer during a period of annual leave, shall be given credit for the time so certified and the paid annual leave shall be extended by the number of days that the employee has been so certified as unfit for duty.

Each member of the bargaining unit who is regular full-time, in an active pay status, is eligible for ten (10) days of sick leave and three (3) days of personal leave annually.   • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital.   • Unpaid Personal Leave of Absence 1. Any employee may apply for an unpaid personal leave of absence for good and sufficient reason. Leave pursuant to this provision may be for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months in any fourteen (14) consecutive months. Such leave may be granted at the discretion of the appointing authority and shall not be unreasonably denied. Employees are encouraged to consult with their agency/department Personnel Officer to determine if they are eligible for benefits available under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. All requests for such leave and responses shall be in writing. The application for leave must specifically state the reasons for such application and the length of time requested. After completion of a period of personal leave of absence, the employee shall be entitled to return to the organizational unit, status and position held immediately prior to the beginning of the leave of absence. If the employee's position is abolished during any such leave, he/she shall be notified and allowed to exercise his/her rights under the Seniority Article of this Agreement.

  • Personal Leave Accrual All employees shall accrue personal leave at the rate of one and twenty-three hundredths (1.23) hours for each eighty (80) hours in active pay status, excluding overtime hours, not to exceed a total of thirty-two (32) hours accrued in one year.
