Personal Davs. A maximum of two (2) days of absence per year for ten (10) month transportation employees, and a maximum of three (3) days of absence per year for twelve (12) month employees without loss of compensation shall be granted to all transportation employees for personal business that cannot be scheduled outside of normal work hours. Personal leave days are to be used to conduct such activities of a non-recreational nature that are impossible to carry out during other than normal work hours. These days shall be granted when requested in writing, on the correct form, at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the day requested. Said leave is subject to the discretion and staffing requirements of the District and may be requested and granted in one- half (1/2) day segments. Personal Davs. Each employee shall be entitled to use three (3) sick days annually as personal business days for the reasons indicated below. These days must be approved by the Superintendent, or his designee, one (1) week in advance, whenever possible. Requests for a personal day shall be made in writing, approved by the Department Head and submitted to the Town Administrator at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the scheduled day of leave. Approval of personal days shall be granted unless such approval would jeopardize necessary staff requirements. Personal days may not be accrued.
