PERSONAL CRITICAL LEAVE BANK (PCLB. 11 It is recommended that the employee establish a PCLB, on his/her leave 12 progression date, by depositing some number of hours of his/her PTO into 13 the PCLB. The PCLB is used for the seventeenth (17) consecutive hour and 14 beyond of absence due to any injury/illness of the employee or when an 15 employee is needed to care for a member of the employee’s immediate 16 family (defined as spouse, dependent child[ren], mother, father, or certified or 17 registered domestic partner) who is ill or injured or for the birth, placement, 18 adoption of a child, or bonding/well newborn care after such, in the year 19 between their leave progression dates. Documentation by a certified 20 physician, hospital or Employee Health Services may be required as 21 determined by his/her Manager/designee. For the purpose of this Article, 23 adopted, or step-child[ren], or a child for whom the employee has been 24 appointed legal guardian, or the natural or adopted child[ren] of the 25 employee’s current certified or registered domestic partner who are under the 1 age of nineteen (19) or who are handicapped children as defined in the 2 City’s health insurance policy.

For the purpose of this Article, dependent 24 children are defined as the employee’s unmarried, natural, adopted, or 25 step-child[ren], or a child for whom the employee has been appointed legal 26 guardian, or the natural or adopted child[ren] of the employee’s current 1 certified or registered domestic partner who are under the age of nineteen 2 (19) and dependent upon the employee for over half his/her support.

  • Paid Personal Leave A. During the first full pay period in each January, full-time employees on the payroll as of September 1, 2011 will be credited annually with paid personal leave credits at the following rate: Scheduled Hours per Week Personal Leave Credits 37.5 hours per week 37.500 hours 40.0 hours per week 40.000 hours Such personal leave may be taken during the following twelve (12) months at a time or times requested by the employee and approved by his/her Appointing Authority.   • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Personal Leave Day A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day each fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than four (4) months.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Sick/Personal Leave Leave granted to the teacher for sick, personal or bereavement reasons.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments. These leaves may be extended by the PVPAA upon recommendation of the xxxx for up to one (1) year.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.
