Common use of Personal Business Clause in Contracts

Personal Business. A. At the beginning of every school year each teacher shall be credited with three (3) days to be used for the teacher's personal business. A personal business day may be used for any purpose at the discretion of the teacher. A teacher must notify the superintendent one (1) day in advance except in cases of emergency. No personal business days will be granted adjacent to a holiday break or the first or last work day of the school year except in emergency cases and are subject to approval by the Superintendent. Such requests will be explained. Days before or after a holiday may be taken without pay. Such requests will be made at least ten (10) days in advance. Two (2) unused accumulated personal business day shall be carried over to the following year. Personal business days shall not total more than five (5) in any school year. If three (3) or more consecutive personal business days are to be taken, the third or more such day/s is subject to approval of the principal or superintendent. Any unused personal leave days are to be credited to accumulated sick leave at the end of the school year.
