PERS Sick Leave Conversion. Upon retirement, an employee may choose conversion of accrued sick leave to time in service for the calculation of retirement benefits instead of cash out. The primary objective of providing vacation time off benefits is to permit employees the opportunity for time away from work with pay. The accumulation limit is 360 hours.

PERS Sick Leave Conversion. XxxXXXX will provide for sick leave credit upon retirement. This shall result in unused sick leave being credited towards retirement. Employees may choose to convert 100% of sick leave towards retirement up to one full year of additional service credit; or convert a portion of sick leave towards retirement and be paid the balance in accordance with and subject to the limitations of Section 15.   • Sick Leave Buy Back To encourage and reward employees who maintain good job attendance, the parties agree to the following incentive award: Employees who utilize two (2) sick leave days or less each assigned school calendar year and year-round employees who utilize three (3) sick leave days or less during each assigned school calendar year - upon request – shall receive payment for up to eight (8) days of sick leave, provided the employee worked the full assigned calendar year.* The following procedures apply to the payment of sick leave under this section.
