Permanent Day and Evening Shifts. Patrol, first responders (excluding traffic and SAT officers) shall be assigned to either a permanent day or evening shift. Upon successful conclusion of the Field Training Program, Probationary POls will be assigned to a shift based upon bona fide operational, training and developmental needs, as reasonably determined by the Employer. When there is a waiting list of volunteers for shift hours and a probationary P01 is pending placement on a shift, the probationary P01 may be assigned the shift hours before a volunteer.   • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Afternoon Shift If a second shift is employed, the hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours of work between the hours of 4:30 P.M. and 12:30 A.M. for which eight (8) hours will be paid and a shift premium of sixty-one cents (61¢) shall be added on to the classified hourly rate.

  • Time Off Between Shifts Failure to provide the minimum number of hours between the commencement of an employee's scheduled shift and the commencement of such employee's next scheduled shift shall result in payment of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate for only those hours which reduce the minimum hour period. Where the minimum period is reduced as a result of an approved change of shift(s) requested by the employee(s), such premium payment shall not apply. The minimum number of hours for purposes of this Article shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Day Shift The standard work day will consist of eight (8) hours worked between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a designated thirty (30) minute lunch period. Starting and stopping times to be determined by mutual agreement between the Company and the shop employees.

  • Extra Shifts Where an employee agrees to work or is required by the Employer to work a shift(s) or portion thereof, in excess of the employee’s scheduled work week, the employee will receive pay at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular hourly rate for such excess hours worked, with a minimum of three (3) hours at the rate of one and one‐half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay.
