PAYMENT OF BARGAINING COMMITTEE. Prior to the expiry date of the Collective Agreement, and for the thirty (30) calendar days following expiry date, members of the Bargaining Committee including members of any sub com- mittees, will be compensated for the time spent during regular working hours in negotiating with the Company representatives for renewal of the Collective Agreement. If the parties meet for part of a day the Bargaining Committee shall be compensated for the full day. The Company will pay the cost of a meeting room during Collective Agreement renewal negotiations.

PAYMENT OF BARGAINING COMMITTEE. The Company shall pay lost wages for the negotiating committee during contract negotiations for renewal of the Collective Agreement. Pay will be at straight time hourly rate for a maximum of eight (8) hours per day. This provision shall also apply to three (3) meetings for preparing for negotiations. During negotiations and preparation for negotiations, the Union will appoint a Plant Chairperson designate to represent employees while the Bargaining Committee and Plant Chairperson are out of the plant. The Plant Chairperson’s designate will be paid by the Company at his/her own classification rate of pay. Leave without pay will be granted for a period up to ten (10) working days to permit members of the Bargaining Unit to attend Conventions, Conferences or Educational Seminars called by the C.A.W. National Union or other Labour Councils. It is understood that not more than five (5) members will be granted leave during any period of time and it is further understood that not more than two (2) Employees are absent on any such leave at the same time from the same section. Employees absent on union leave of absence shall continue to accumulate seniority. As well, coverage under all benefit plans including pension shall continue. This includes pension contributions from the Company based on the employees hourly, daily or weekly rate which ever is applicable (based on the time off requested). A request must be made in writing and approved at least two (2) weeks prior to the commencement of the date or dates for which leave is requested. The requirement to make the written request two (2) weeks prior to the commencement of the date of the leave shall not apply if the Union itself did not receive two (2) weeks advance notice of the date of the convention or seminar. If such special circumstances arise, the Union shall make the written request as soon as they have knowledge of the date for which the leave is requested. Leave without pay will be granted for the purpose of local Union business with written notification at least two (2) days prior for a one (1) day leave and at least one (1) week prior for two (2) days or more.

  • Function of Bargaining Committee All matters pertaining to performance of work, operational problems, rates of pay, hours of work, collective bargaining, and other working conditions, shall be referred by the Union bargaining committee to the Employer for discussion and settlement.

The Hospital agrees to pay members of the negotiating committee for straight time wages lost from their regularly scheduled working hours spent in direct negotiations for a renewal agreement, up to but not including arbitration. Nothing in this provision is intended to preclude the Union negotiating committee from having the assistance of any representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when negotiating with the Hospital.

  • Central Bargaining Committee (a) In central bargaining between the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the participating hospitals, an employee serving on the Union's Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee in direct negotiations up to the point of arbitration. In addition, an employee serving on the Union’s Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for two (2) days of preparation time for such central negotiating meetings with the Hospital’s Central negotiating Committee. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. It is understood and agreed that the maximum number of Union Central Negotiating Committee members entitled to payment under this provision shall be eight (8), and in no case will more than one employee from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Union shall advise the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee, before negotiations commence, of those employees to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee shall advise the eight (8) Hospitals accordingly.

  • Collective Bargaining Committee The Employer agrees to recognize a Collective Bargaining Committee whose sole functions shall be to meet with Employer representatives for the purpose of negotiating modifications to this Agreement. The committee shall be composed of two (2) stewards from the bargaining unit together with the Union's Business Agent. The Employer agrees to pay committee members at their regular straight time rate for all time lost from their regular schedule of work while in collective bargaining meetings with Employer representatives.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.
