Payment for Unused Sick Leave Days. 1. An employee who qualifies for participation in the District Retirement Program is eligible to apply his/her District 92 earned unused sick leave accumulation to the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System to receive additional creditable service for retirement purposes. The employee is also entitled to receive the District 92 incentive program stipend for his/her unused sick leave days, (based on the chart below), which are not used for additional creditable service.

Payment for Unused Sick Leave Days. Upon retirement from the District, accumulated sick leave days not used for TRS service credit will be paid at a rate of $50/day to a maximum of 100 days. Payment for Unused Sick Leave Days. On termination, payment of unused sick leave days will be paid to all employees of the bargaining unit at the rate of one-half (1/2) of all accumulated sick leave hours. Upon death of the employee, the Employer shall pay the employee's beneficiary one-half (1/2) of all accumulated sick leave hours. Employees who are discharged from their employment in the Sheriff's Department are not eligible for any paid sick leave days under this Section.

  • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.
