Pay Out of Sick Leave. Employees shall have the option each year for the unused sick leave/carers leave component of personal leave accrued over the calendar year to be paid at the end of the year of all days accrued in that year in excess of 3 days (i.e. 3 days are to be banked), or to bank the accrual.
Pay Out of Sick Leave. (1) A permanent employee may elect to exchange accumulated sick leave hours for pay once per year at the rate of eighty percent (80%) of the employee’s rate of pay by giving notice to the employer by December 1 of each year. No employee may exchange sick leave hours if it results in an employee’s accumulated sick leave being less than 10 (ten) days or seventy-five (75) hours.
Pay Out of Sick Leave. Upon layoff or death, one-half (.5) of the value of an employee's accumulated sick leave will be paid to the employee or their beneficiary at their separation rate of pay.   • Reinstatement of Sick Leave An eligible employee who is reinstated or reappointed to State service within four (4) years of the date of resignation in good standing, or retirement shall have their accumulated but unused sick leave balance restored and posted to their credit in the records of the employing department provided such sick leave was accrued in accordance with the personnel rules or the provisions of this Agreement.   • Reporting of Sick Leave The employee will call in sick or returning in accordance with Article 14.05 to the designated employer for purposes of payment.   • Donation of Sick Leave The District shall allow unit members to donate sick leave to individual employees who have suffered long-term disabilities or illnesses. Donating unit members shall retain a thirty (30) day balance of sick leave after their donation and may donate no more than twenty-five (25) days of sick leave per year. The donation form is Appendix I. Part-time faculty may receive sick leave donations from any employee, and may donate accumulated sick leave to other part-time faculty following the same requirements as outlined above.
