PAY ARRANGEMENTS. 23.1 Employees shall be paid on a monthly basis with an optional draw. The monthly pay period will be the 1st through the end of the month. Draw payday will be the 25th of each month. Pay day will be the 10th of the month following the period end. There shall be no deductions other than required by law or authorized by this Agreement, or authorized in writing by the employee. The optional draw amounts shall be subject to federally mandated tax deductions.

PAY ARRANGEMENTS. 11.1 Paydays: Employees will be paid monthly. An employee may request a mid-monthly draw for up to approximately one-half (1/2) of the normal monthly pay. Any payment for overtime work shall be included in the monthly pay not in the mid-month draw. Payday for each month shall be designated as the third working day of the following month, with the mid-month draw on the fifteenth (15th) day of the month. Effective as of January 1, 2014, all employees will be paid through direct deposit; paper checks will no longer be used. If the fifteenth (15th) falls on a weekend or a holiday, the mid-month draw check shall be ready for each employee on the preceding business day. Any errors in an employee’s pay shall be corrected on the next monthly pay check provided two (2) working days’ notice is given to the Employer’s Treasurer. Any error in an employee’s paycheck, due to the Employer’s error, shall be corrected no later than five (5) working days (of the Treasurer) after notice has been given to the Employer’s Treasurer.

Level 1 ENTRY LEVEL FOR ALL CASUAL EMPLOYEES This rate applies to a casual employee who has not undertaken any accredited training, or has less than 50 hours work experience with the AEC or has less than 50 hours of satisfactory and relevant work experience within the Hospitality or related industry, or who has had less than 10 engagements in comparable work within the Hospitality or related industry. This rate applies to all casual employees on commencement of employment and up to accrual of 50 hours satisfactory work experience with the AEC. Level 2 EMPLOYEES WITH SOME EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING This rate applies to a casual employee who has more than 50 hours work experience with the AEC or more than 50 hours relevant and satisfactory work experience within the Hospitality or related industry, or who has had more than 10 engagements in comparable work within the Hospitality or related industry, or who has successfully undertaken Hospitality Industry accredited training relevant to a range or work duties offered with the AEC. This rate applies to employees who have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 50 hours work experience with the AEC. Level 3 EXPERIENCED AND/OR MULTI-SKILLED EMPLOYEES This rate applies to a casual employee who in the opinion of the Employer has achieved experienced worker standard in a range of work duties required to be undertaken by that employee with the AEC or who has successfully completed more than 2 years relevant and satisfactory work experience involving a minimum of 24 rostered calls within those 2 years or whom is appointed to assist in the supervision of casual employees at a lower grade.

To be paid in twelve (12) monthly installments requires a pay mechanism that is based on estimated time worked. Pay is for actual time worked. A reconciliation between estimated time work required to pay twelve (12) monthly installments and actual time worked is a mandatory process. The “contract” provided by Human Resources is the mechanism used to make twelve (12) monthly installments. There shall be no deductions other than required by law or authorized in writing by the employee.
