Pavement Patching. A.) For failed Pavement - If the need should arise, and ONLY AT THE DIRECTION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT, to patch a section of the existing pavement that has “failed” the following shall apply: The total depth requirement for patching flexible pavement, as described in the Standard Specification Section 304.04, is hereby amended to be SIX (6) inches. The material under the patch is expected to be in a compacted condition in accordance with said Specification 304.04.
Pavement Patching. Paving shall not proceed until deficient base material areas and utility trenches have been corrected and are ready to receive paving. Paving shall not be applied until the Engineer inspects and approves the finished base.
