Parties’ Commitment to Protecting Human Rights. (a) The Parties each commit themselves to the protection and promotion of the human rights of all individuals affected by the Project, as those rights are articulated in the United Nations’ 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights, and Applicable Law.

Parties’ Commitment to Protecting Human Rights. (a) It is the objective of each of the Parties hereto that the Operations shall be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the continuing economic and social viability of centers of population that have formed and which may form as a result of such Operations during the term of this Agreement. Upon request of the Government at any time the Company shall consult with the Government and with the community mutually to establish plans and programs for the implementation of this objective and thereafter the Company shall cooperate with the Government with regards to its effort concerning the realization of such plans and programs.

  • STUDENT DISCIPLINE AND TEACHER PROTECTION A. The Board recognizes its responsibility to give all support and assistance to teachers with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom. Whenever it appears to the teacher and a representative of the Board that a particular pupil requires the attention of special counselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians or other professional persons the Board will take steps to relieve the teacher of responsibilities with respect to such pupil.

  • SECTION 109 OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 The Contractor shall comply with the provisions of Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. No person in the United States shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity funded in whole or in part with funds made available under this title. Section 109 further provides that discrimination on the basis of age under the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 or with respect to an otherwise qualified handicapped individual as provided in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, is prohibited.

  • Whistle Blowing Protection The Employer agrees to adhere to the whistle blowing protection pursuant to the Long-Term Care Homes Act (LTCHA).

  • Extended Health Fifty percent (50%) of the billed premium towards coverage of eligible nurses in the active employ for the Extended Health Care Benefits as provided under the VON National Group Insurance Plan, provided that the balance of the premium is paid by each nurse through payroll deductions.

  • Extended Health Plan (a) The Employer will pay 100% of the monthly premiums for the extended health care plan that will cover the employee, their spouse and dependent children, provided they are not enrolled in another plan.

  • Interlocal Cooperation Act In satisfaction of the requirements of the Cooperation Act in connection with this Agreement, the Parties agree as follows:

  • OFFSET CREDIT/COOPERATION This Contract has been entered into in direct support of LOCKHEED XXXXXX'x international offset programs. All offset benefit credits resulting from this Contract are the sole property of LOCKHEED XXXXXX to be applied to the offset program of its choice. SELLER shall assist LOCKHEED XXXXXX in securing appropriate offset credits from the respective country government authorities.

  • Whistle Blower Protection Provided a nurse has followed reasonable policies or procedures issued by the Employer concerned to protect the Employer’s entitlement to investigate and address any allegation of wrongdoing, nurses will not be subject to discipline or reprisal for the reasonable exercise of their professional obligations, including those related to patient advocacy.

  • Civil Rights – General – 49 USC § 47123 The Company agrees to observe and comply with those requirements of the FAA set forth in Exhibit D, Federal Aviation Administration Required Provisions, as such requirements may be amended or interpreted by the FAA or the United States Department of Transportation from time to time. The Company shall comply with pertinent statutes, Executive Orders and such rules as are promulgated to ensure that no person shall, on the grounds of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from participating in any activity conducted with or benefiting from Federal assistance. If the Company transfers its obligation to another, the transferee is obligated in the same manner as the Company. This provision is in addition to that required of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
