Participation in Union Activities. Subject to patient care and staffing needs, an employee may be granted an unpaid leave of up to 12 (twelve) weeks to assume a position with the Union and the employee shall be entitled to return to their former position. On a leave of absence exceeding 12 (twelve) weeks, the employee would be entitled to the first available position for which the employee is qualified in order of seniority to other employees with return to work rights. This leave may not exceed 12 (twelve) months.
