PARTICIPATION IN PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. The University maintains institutional memberships in selected state and national organizations. Employees who are designated by the University as institutional representatives and are assigned by the University for attendance at sessions of those organizations shall be reimbursed by the University for expenses incident thereto, in accordance with the established policies for expense reimbursement. Whenever Employees are assigned to attend any professional meetings as official representatives of the University, expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the established policies and procedures. All such Employee participation must be approved in advance. These policies are in no way inconsistent with the Employee's option to participate as an individual and at his/her own expense in professional organizations that establish and maintain the Employee's status as a professional person. Where attendance at functions of such professional organizations requires release time, it may be approved by the Administrative Head of the department, based on the merits of the request and where work schedules of the department permit.

PARTICIPATION IN PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. A. The Library recognizes that membership and participation in professional associations and attendance and participation in conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. both inside and outside the Library for purposes of professional development are voluntary and may be positive factors in the nurturing of the individual's career and professional self-development. The Parties also recognize that such membership and participation can make the individual a better employee of the Library, and that the Library is entitled to assign employees to attend conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. in connection with work.

Related to PARTICIPATION IN PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

  • Professional Organizations During the Term, Executive shall be reimbursed by the Company for the annual dues payable for membership in professional societies associated with subject matter related to the Company's interests. New memberships for which reimbursement will be sought shall be approved by the Company in advance.

  • International Organization Any international organization or wholly owned agency or instrumentality thereof. This category includes any intergovernmental organization (including a supranational organization) (1) that is comprised primarily of non-U.S. governments; (2) that has in effect a headquarters agreement with Singapore; and (3) the income of which does not inure to the benefit of private persons.

  • Special Rules Regarding Related Entities and Branches That Are Nonparticipating Financial Institutions If a Finnish Financial Institution, that otherwise meets the requirements described in paragraph 1 of this Article or is described in paragraph 3 or 4 of this Article, has a Related Entity or branch that operates in a jurisdiction that prevents such Related Entity or branch from fulfilling the requirements of a participating FFI or deemed-compliant FFI for purposes of section 1471 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code or has a Related Entity or branch that is treated as a Nonparticipating Financial Institution solely due to the expiration of the transitional rule for limited FFIs and limited branches under relevant U.S. Treasury Regulations, such Finnish Financial Institution shall continue to be in compliance with the terms of this Agreement and shall continue to be treated as a deemed- compliant FFI or exempt beneficial owner, as appropriate, for purposes of section 1471 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, provided that:

  • Project Organization A summary organization chart showing the interrelationships between Owner, Construction Contractor and Design Professional, and other supporting organizations and permitting review agencies. Detailed charts, one each for Construction Contractor and Design Professional, showing organizational elements participating in the Project shall be included.

  • Foreign Terrorists Organizations Contractor represents and warrants that it is not engaged in business with Iran, Sudan, or a foreign terrorist organization, as prohibited by Section 2252.152 of the Texas Government Code.

  • NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION(S) A university or other institution of higher education or an organization of the type described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (26 U.S.C. 501(c)) and exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 501(a)) or any nonprofit scientific or educational organization qualified under a state nonprofit organization statute. As used herein, the term also includes government agencies.

  • Iran, Sudan and Foreign Terrorist Organizations The Dissemination Agent and the Administrator represent that neither the Dissemination Agent, the Administrator nor any parent company, wholly- or majority-owned subsidiaries, and other affiliates of the Dissemination Agent or the Administrator is a company identified on a list prepared and maintained by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts under Section 2252.153 or Section 2270.0201, Texas Government Code, and posted on any of the following pages of such officer’s internet website: xxxxx://xxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx/purchasing/docs/sudan-list.pdf, xxxxx://xxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx/purchasing/docs/iran-list.pdf, or xxxxx://xxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx/purchasing/docs/fto-list.pdf.   • International or National Shopping Goods estimated to cost less than $30,000 equivalent per contract may be procured under contracts awarded on the basis of international or national shopping procedures in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 3.5 and 3.6 of the Guidelines.
