Part-Time Educational Leave. A part-time educational leave, without pay, may be granted to an employee who has served the District for three (3) consecutive years upon request of the supervisor and the administrative officer with the approval of the College President (or Vice Chancellor for District Office employees). The following conditions shall be given consideration:

Where participation by an employee in an educational program is by the Employer, the Employer may in its sole discretion: grant educational leave without pay during an employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work for the purpose of allowing the employee to take courses, seminars or training programs; or grant time off without pay for the purpose of writing required examinations.
