Parental. 4. To take a course of study such as will increase the employee's usefulness on return to the position.
Parental. (a) Parental leaves will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except where amended in this provision. The service requirement for eligibility for parental leave shall be thirteen
Parental. A faculty member who becomes the natural (e.g., birth or surrogate) or adoptive parent of a child shall be entitled to Family Care leave immediately after birth or completion of appropriate adoption papers. Documentation shall be submitted to Human Resources within thirty (30) days of the event.
Parental. (a) A who becomes a parent of a child is eligible to take a parental leave in accordancewith the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, except where amended in this provision. A nurse who has taken a pregnancy leave under Article is eligible to be granted a parental leave of up to eighteen (18) weeks' duration, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. A nurse who is eligible for a parental leave who is the natural father or is an adoptive parent may extend the parental leave for a period of up to twelve (12) months duration, consideration being given to any requirements of adoption authorities. In cases of adoption, the nurse shall advise the hospital as far in advance as possible with respect to a prospective adoption and shall request the leave of absence, in writing, upon receipt of of the pending adoption. If, because of late receipt of confirmation of the pending adoption, the nurse finds it impossible to request the leave of absence in writing, the request may be made verbally and subsequently verified in writing. The nurse shall be reinstatedto her or his former position, unless that position has been discontinued, in which case the nurse shall be given a comparable job. Nurses newly hired to replace nurses who are on approved parental leave may be and such release shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. Ifretained by the Hospital, in a permanent position, the nurse shall be credited with seniority from date of hire subject to successfullycompleting her or his probationary period. The nurse shall be credited with tours worked (hours worked for nurses whose regular hours of work are other than the standard work day) towards the probationary period provided in Article (a) to a maximum of tours (225 hours for nurses whose regular hours of work are other than the standard work day). The Hospital will outline to nurses hired to fill such temporary vacancies, the circumstances giving rise to the vacancy and the special conditions relating to such employment.
Parental. All bargaining unit members, including those in their new-hire probationary period, shall be entitled to receive all the benefits extended to all other Ohio University employees in accordance with the University’s Parental Leave Program guidelines. If/when the University finalizes and establishes an official Parental Leave Policy, said policy shall apply to all patrol officers, including those officers who are in their new-hire probationary period.
Parental. C. The following general conditions shall apply to leaves of absence:
Parental upon written request, Employee shall be granted a leave of absence with pay for a period not to exceed five (5) days immediately after the birth of adoption of a child. If both parents are Employees, only one such parent shall be eligible for leave under this provision.

Parental. All employees shall be eligible for parental leave, not to exceed the duration of the school year in which it is taken, without pay except where sick leave is applicable subject to the following conditions:
Parental. Furlough and Company Offered Leaves (“COLA”) Pay Seniority will continue to accrue for ninety (90) days, independent of the calendar month. Beginning on the ninety-first (91st) day, Pay Seniority will be adjusted for the remaining inactive service while the employee is on furlough.
