Paraplegia. Paraplegia means the permanent and total paralysis of the two lower limbs, bladder and rectum.
Paraplegia. The permanent, total and irrecoverable paralysis of both legs below the hip, the bladder and rectum. Payment Period The maximum period of time either or both Temporary Total Disablement or Temporary Partial Disablement is payable. This period of time commences at the end of any Deferment Period and is not necessarily consecutive. This period of time applies for each and every claim that is the result of same Bodily Injury. Permanent Facial Disfigurement A permanent physical disfigurement or scarring of the facial area from the hairline to the neck normally exposed to view. Permanent Partial Disablement A disability that is described under the extension to Permanent Total Disablement which is beyond hope of recovery and will in all probability continue for the remainder of the Insured Person’s life. Permanent Total Disablement For an Insured Person who is an Employee or Director Disablement which totally prevents an Insured Person from working in their usual occupation for the Insured which in all probability will continue for the remainder of their natural life as determined by a Medical Consultant. For all other Insured Persons other than a Child Disablement which totally prevents an Insured Person from working in gainful employment for which they are fitted by way of training, education or employment which in all probability will continue for the remainder of their natural life. For a Child who is not a Director or Employee Disablement which totally prevents an Insured Person from working in gainful employment of any and every kind whatsoever which in all probability will continue for the remainder of their natural life as determined by a Medical Consultant.
Paraplegia. If within the Operative Time an Insured Person sustains Bodily Injury resulting in Paraplegia and Permanent Total Disablement the Company shall pay a benefit to the Insured for the benefit of the Insured Person in accordance with the Sum Insured shown in the Personal Accident Specification. The Sum Insured for Paraplegia is payable in addition to the Core Benefits Sum Insured.
