Pairing Construction. 1. All scheduled flying shall be built into one, two, three, four, and five day trips.
Pairing Construction. .01 A Pairing is a pre-arranged combination of one or more Duty Periods that shall be identified by a number for bidding and scheduling purposes.

Pairing Construction a. It is the responsibility of the Company to prepare and publish the pairings to be bid on the by the Flight Attendants. Up to two designated members of the AFA Scheduling Committee shall be released and permitted to participate in the pairing construction/review process in Phoenix, Arizona prior to publication of the pairings for each bid period, and the Company will absorb the flight pay loss of one of the members. The publication of the pairings will not be delayed due to the unavailability of the AFA Scheduling Committee members.

Reserve Duty Periods shall be constructed as Pairings that include start and release times, and will be included in published Blocks. Pairings shall be constructed by the Company, in consultation with the from the known aircraft route tracks and shall reflect all known scheduled or charter flying. All known training periods will be constructed as Pairings. The number of continuous Days in a Pairing shall not normally exceed four (4). The maximum number of continuous Days in a Pairing shall be five The Company shall discuss with the Association the construction of any Pairings in excess of four (4) continuous Days before the Pairings are published for bidding purposes. For flight check-ins at layover points, the check-in times may be later than the duty commencing time to facilitate transportation requirements, but in no case will this be less than minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
