PAID VACATIONS. 16.01 An employee in the active employ of the Company shall be entitled to an annual paid vacation pay on the following basis:

PAID VACATIONS. The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacations of six (6) weeks in each year of the Term and any extension of the Term at such times and for such periods as may be mutually acceptable to the Company and the Employee, in accordance with the Company’s policies governing vacations for its executive officers generally. Unused vacation in any given year shall not accumulate from year to year and Employee shall not be entitled to any cash payment for, or payment in lieu of, unused vacation time.

PAID VACATIONS. Vacation leave shall accrue from the date the unit member first renders probationary service, if prior to the 15th day of the month. If probationary service is first rendered after the 15th day of the month, such service shall be deemed to have commenced the first day of the following month. Full credit for vacations, sick leave, holiday benefits, and salary increments will be given for the first calendar month of employment if the beginning date of employment allows fifteen (15) days of employment in that month.

For purposes of this Article, "employee(s)" is defined as all full time employees in job classifications IV, III, and II within the Custodial Personnel job category and all other employees within the bargaining unit who are regularly scheduled to work on a twelve month basis.

New employees of the Fire Department shall accrue 4.62 hours per pay period of vacation time from his/her date of hire. These new employees shall not be eligible for a vacation in the calendar year in which they are hired.
