Paid Overtime. The Employer may direct the Employee to work overtime in excess of the normal working day to meet particular unavoidable work demands. Such work will not be a regular occurrence, and reasonable notice of the requirement to work overtime will be given. Where the work is required to be performed outside the span of 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday, or beyond the current rostering arrangements for Employees who work shift work, the overtime will be paid overtime and subject to clauses 12.3(c) to 12.3(f) of this Appendix. Where the work is unpredictable and the Employer is unable to provide reasonable notice, the Employee may only refuse to work overtime where this would impose personal hardship or interfere with an Employee's family commitments. The Employee will provide an explanation at the time of refusing the overtime. The Employer will ensure that work is organised in such a way that the requirement to perform overtime is not a regular occurrence. Shift work Employees who have already completed a rostered day of 7.6 hours will be paid overtime on a Saturday or Sunday (excluding Public Holidays) at 200 per cent for all overtime worked subject to the maximum payment being based on the annual salary of the lowest pay point within Grade 4. All overtime worked on a Public Holiday will be paid at the rate of 250 per cent of the ordinary rate of pay subject to the maximum payment being based on the annual salary of the lowest pay point within Grade 4. All overtime calculations will be rounded up to the next quarter of an hour. Paid Overtime a. All employees covered by this MOU shall be eligible for overtime pay at one and one-half (1½) times their regular rate of pay, as defined by the FLSA, for all actual work performed in excess of the employeesscheduled hours in their declared work period. Ocean Lifeguard Specialist personnel shall continue to receive overtime pay for working hours in excess of forty (40) hours per work week.

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Work Period; Overtime Pay The work period for overtime computation purposes shall be a seven (7) day period, as defined by the Employer. Nurses working this twelve (12) hour shift schedule shall be paid overtime compensation at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate of pay for the first two (2) hours after the end of the twelve (12) hour shift or for any hours worked beyond forty (40) hours in a seven (7) day period. If a nurse works more than two (2) consecutive hours beyond the end of the twelve (12) hour shift, all overtime hours after fourteen (14) consecutive hours of work for that shift shall be paid at double time (2x).

Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall other premiums be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall the same hours worked be counted as part of the normal work week and also as hours for which the overtime premium is paid. Where an employee is required to work additional overtime contiguous to an overtime shift within a twenty-four (24) hour period, the employee will be compensated at the rate of double time his or her straight time hourly rate for all additional contiguous overtime hours worked.

  • Payment of Overtime 5.5.1 Subject to the provisions of this sub-clause, all work performed outside of the ordinary hours of any day, Monday to Friday, inclusive, will be paid for at the rate of time and one half for the first 2 hours and double time thereafter.
