Paid Holidays – Part-time Employees. 29:01 Part time employees who qualify with The Employment Standards Act and who are required to work on any one of the holidays outlined in Article 28:01 shall be paid at one hundred and fifty percent (150%) of their hourly rate for hours worked that day in addition to their regular rate for hours worked that day. In addition, payment for the above mentioned holidays will not be less than the provisions of The Employment Standards Act.
Paid Holidays – Part-time Employees. Where a part-time employee works on a paid holiday that employee shall receive time and one half (1 ½) for hours worked that day. In addition, if the employee qualifies as stipulated in the Employment Standards Act, the employee will be paid holiday pay equal to one day’s average pay in accordance with the Act. Part-time employees who do not work on a paid holiday, but qualify for holiday pay, will be paid in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

All part-time employees who have been employed thirty (30) calendar days or more and have worked an average of at least twenty-four (24) hours, but less than thirty (30) hours per week in the four (4) weeks preceding the week in which the holiday occurs shall receive six (6) hours pay at his/her regular hourly rate for each holiday. In calculating the foregoing averages, all hours worked by a part-time employee to a maximum of forty (40) hours per week will be used in calculating the Statutory Holiday pay entitlement. Employees other than those regularly working full-time shall be paid for the number of hours they normally would have worked on such a day if it were not a holiday; provided they worked their scheduled working day prior to and following the holiday.   • Part-Time Employees (a) A part-time employee is an employee who is engaged to work less than an average of 38 ordinary hours per week and whose hours of work are reasonably predictable.
