Overtime Time and one half an employee's regular hourly wage rate shall be paid for all hours worked by an employee over 8 in a day or over 40 in a week. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime. Hours paid but not worked for a holiday or vacation shall count as hours worked under this Section. Employer retains the right to require employees to work overtime, but no employee shall work overtime without Employer's prior approval. All hours worked on Sunday shall be paid at double the straight time hourly rate. Employees who have worked 16 consecutive hours shall be released from work for a rest period of at least 8 hours. When an employee is released during his/her normal work schedule, he/she shall be given the option to cover his/her remaining work schedule with vacation leave or take it off as unpaid leave.

However, a change in an Employee's work schedule pursuant to Section 5.2.1 will not result in daily overtime liability for the Employer.

Overtime Time and one. Half Subject to the foregoing provisions, overtime at one and one‐half (1‐1/2) times the respective straight time hourly rate shall be paid to the employee for all consecutive time worked in excess of eight (8) hours or in excess of eighty (80) hours of work in a consecutive two‐week period; or for full time employees, for work performed on any day scheduled as a day off for such employees. All overtime must be approved by the supervisor. Paid sick leave shall not be counted as time worked in computing eligibility for overtime pay. Holiday and vacation time will however be considered as time worked for overtime purposes. When it is necessary to replace an employee due to absenteeism of scheduled employees, such opening will be offered by seniority first to the senior employee not subject to overtime pay and then by seniority to employees entitled to overtime pay. If the opening has not been filled, then the junior employee may be required to work. Employees will be required to submit a written “call‐in preference form” to be considered for such replacement scheduling. When scheduling extra hours where advance notice exists, the employer will post a sign‐ up sheet prior to the posting of the work schedule whereby employees may indicate availability for specific extra shifts within their classification. Extra shifts shall be granted on a seniority basis, first to part‐time employees on a non‐overtime basis, and then to full‐time employees. Extra shifts shall be granted on this basis before using temporary employees of outside employment agencies.

  • Overtime and Compensatory Time Because of the unique nature of the duties and emergency response obligations of the Division, management reserves the right to assign employees to work overtime as needed.

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse.
