OVERTIME AND SHIFT WORK. 9.01 All work executed in excess of eight (8) hours per day from Monday to Thursday inclusive, and in excess of four (4) hours on Fridays, as outlined in Article 8.01 above, shall be considered overtime. Except whereby mutual agreement between the contractor and the local union, as outlined in Article 8.01 above, work in excess of four -nine hour days between Monday and Friday or four ten hour days between Monday and Friday has been mutually agreed to, shall be considered overtime and paid for at the overtime rate.
OVERTIME AND SHIFT WORK. No apprentice under the age of eighteen years shall be required to work overtime or shift work unless he/she so desires. No apprentice shall, except in an emergency, work or be required to work overtime or shift work at times which would prevent his/her attendance at technical school as required by any statute, award or regulation applicable to him/her.

For the purpose of meeting the needs of the industry, TransGrid requires an employee to work: • reasonable overtime, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays • day work or shift work, or to transfer from one system of working to another, including transfer from one system of shift work to another. Unless a reasonable excuse exists, an employee will work or transfer in accordance with these requirements.

No overtime shall be paid to an employee who works excess of her regularly scheduled work hours as a result of a voluntary exchange of with another employee for personal convenience, (such voluntary exchange must be approved in advance by the supervisor).

OVERTIME AND SHIFT WORK. Section 1. Eight (8) hours in a day will be between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, when worked shall be paid at the basic wage rate. The starting time for the Cement Masons will be the same as all other crafts on the job site. Time and one-half (1 1/2) shall be paid f or all pours worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day, Monday through Friday and Saturday. Double time the basic wage rate shall be paid for all work performed on Sunday, or Holidays. The foregoing shall apply to building construction. Where the Cement Finisher works on a composite crew basis with any other craft, and if such craft received double time for over-time, then the Cement Finishers, working on the composite crew, shall receive double time as overtime for the same overtime hours worked. For the purpose of the administration of overtime, the term “composite crew” shall mean only a crew composed of employees from more than one craft union who are jointly assigned to perform the same specific work task on the same job site at the same time.
OVERTIME AND SHIFT WORK. 4.4.9.1 No Apprentice/Trainee will work overtime or shift work where it prevents the Apprentice/Trainee from attending vocational, educational or training providers unless other arrangements can be made.
