– OVERTIME AND ON-CALL. 16.01 The Employer may require permanent full-time or permanent part-time employees to provide on- call services. Before requiring any employee to work on-call, the Employer will request employees to volunteer. If there are not sufficient volunteers to provide on-call services, the Employer will assign on-call work by seniority among qualified employees on a rotational basis. Coverage for the Emergency Duty Worker (“XXX”) program will be assigned by asking for volunteers on a quarterly basis (Jan to March; April to June; July to Sept; and Oct to Dec). Shifts will be assigned by seniority among those qualified employees who have volunteered for such coverage shifts on a rotational basis for that quarter. Should there be insufficient volunteers; the Employer will assign coverage for the XXX program work by seniority amongst qualified employees on a rotational basis. The Employer may also consider the qualified employee’s daily work load requirements and the impact of taking on-call and XXX program coverage shifts when allocating shifts.

  • No Lay-Off to Compensate for Overtime An employee shall not be required to lay-off during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • HOURS AND OVERTIME 3:1 A workweek is defined as seven (7) consecutive calendar days, from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight. The basic workweek shall consist of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours each and shall begin Monday and run through Friday, except when a job other than for a public utility is to be done on Saturday, then the Company may assign another day as a non-workday and Saturdays becomes a workday in the basic workweek. An extended workweek shall begin at starting time Monday and continue until the next Monday starting time. The regular hours of work for all employees shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes which normally will be from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. provided, however, that the regular lunch period may be advance or delayed an hour or less when work must necessarily be performed during the regular lunch period. Such a change in the lunch period shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime. The regular hours of work may be changed by the Company at the request or direction of the public utility or governmental authorities, and by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. The Company may change the start times by 30 minutes in either direction of the regular start time to meet the operational need without union approval. Such a change in the regular hours of work shall not be deemed to require the payment of overtime.

  • No Layoff to Compensate for Overtime Employees shall not be required to layoff during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • Overtime and Compensatory Time Because of the unique nature of the duties and emergency response obligations of the Division, management reserves the right to assign employees to work overtime as needed.

  • Overtime/Compensatory Time Overtime shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled workday. Compensatory time may be earned, in lieu of overtime, for overtime hours or hours earned under 18.7 or 18.8 of this article. In no case will compensatory time be allowed, in lieu of overtime once the employee has reached the compensatory time limit in 18.10.

  • Overtime and Calls 8.1 Except as otherwise provided, time in excess of eight hours' service (exclusive of meal period) shall be considered overtime and shall be paid on the actual minute basis at the rate of time and one-half time.
