Outside Teaching Experience. New teachers hired will be allowed credit on the salary schedule for up to two (2) years of outside teaching experience. Credit is granted only if at the time the teaching service was rendered the teacher met the present District minimum requirements for contract status. There may be exceptions, as prescribed by the District, when the District will allow credit on the salary schedule for up to eight (8) years for outside teaching experience.

Outside Teaching Experience. The Board may place teachers signing a contract with the Xxxxxxx-Xxx Public Schools for the first time on any step on the salary schedule the Board desires.
Outside Teaching Experience. All teachers, newly employed, may be given credit as determined by the superintendent on the agreed salary schedule set forth in Schedule A for full years of outside teaching experience in any school district.

Outside Teaching Experience. New teachers shall be allowed credit on the salary schedule for up to eight years outside teaching experience. Credit is granted only if at the time the teaching service was rendered the teacher met the present Detroit minimum requirements for contract status. **A teacher who has previously achieved tenure in Detroit will not be put on probation but will immediately be placed on tenure at the salary step as described in this section. Refer to Michigan Tenure Act, as amended. 82 DFT/SDCD Agreement (7/1/99-6/30/02) Not less than one full year of verified experience is creditable on the Detroit salary schedule. Partial school-year or part-time service is not applicable. One year’s credit on the salary schedule is allowed for 180 days of substitute service in the Detroit Public Schools. The maximum allowance for such substitute teaching is granted on the same basis as credit is granted for outside teaching service upon subsequent approval for contract status. One year of military service may be used in lieu of one year of teaching experience as outlined above.

  • TEACHING CONDITIONS The parties recognize that the availability of optimum school facilities for both student and teacher is desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the teacher and the Board. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and the school day should be directed at insuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end.

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

  • Recognition for Past Experience All RNs hired during the term of this Agreement shall be given full credit (year for year) for continuous recent experience when placed on the wage scale. For the purpose of this section, continuous recent experience as a registered nurse shall be defined as clinical nursing experience in an accredited hospital or skilled nursing facility (including temporary employment with an employer) without a break in nursing experience that would reduce the level of nursing skills in the opinion of the Employer.
