OUT OF BARGAINING UNIT. During an absence due to transfer within the Company to a position outside the jurisdiction of the Union, an employee shall maintain and accumulate seniority up to a maximum of twelve (12) months. Thereafter, if transferred back to a position under the jurisdiction of the Union, the employee concerned will be credited for all Union service with the Company plus a maximum of twelve (12) months for service in a position with the Company outside of the jurisdiction of the Union. Such credits will become effective from the date of transfer back to a position under the jurisdiction of the Union.

OUT OF BARGAINING UNIT. Any employee within the bargaining unit who takes a position with the Board of Education outside the bargaining unit will not accumulate seniority while outside the bargaining unit but will be eligible to return to the bargaining unit and be placed in any job vacancy to which qualification and seniority entitles him/her.

ARTICLE NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION The Company agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out the dealing with Union security and dues check off. A new employee shall be advised of the name and location of Union Xxxxxxx and shall be provided with a copy of the Collective Agreement. The Plant and Health Safety will be allowed up to one hour each to orient and introduce new hires to the Union.
OUT OF BARGAINING UNIT. Seniority for members leaving the bargaining unit for another position within the district shall be frozen for up to two (2) years. If returning to the bargaining unit to a vacant position within two (2) years, the employee will be placed on the seniority list at the level held at the time they left. If returning to the bargaining unit to a vacant position beyond two (2) years, the employee will be placed at the bottom of the seniority list as if new to the bargaining unit. Any break in service, exclusive of approved leaves, from Muskegon Public Schools will nullify any seniority rights with the district and with the association.

The Human Resources Department will discuss such application with the employee and the application will be filed and referred to when the desired vacancy occurs. "Application for Transfer" requests will be valid for a six month period only, unless renewed by the employee making the transfer request.
