Other Work Zone Personnel Minimum Requirements. Contractor-developed Training must provide information on the use of personnel protection equipment, occupational hazards and health risks, and other pertinent topics related to traffic management. The type and amount of training will depend on the job duties and responsibilities. Develop training applicable to the work being performed. Develop training to include the following topics: ⏹ The Life You Save May Be Your Own (or other similar company safety moto) ⏹ Purpose of the Training • It’s The Law 007-001 • To make work zones safer for workers and motorist • To understand what is needed for traffic control • To save lives including your own ⏹ Personal and Co-Worker Safety • High Visibility Safety Apparel: Discuss compliant requirements; Inspect regularly for fading and reduced reflective properties; If night operations are required, discuss the additional and appropriate required apparel in addition to special night work risks; If moving operations are underway, discuss appropriate safety measures specific to the situation and traffic control plan. • Blind Areas: A blind area is the area around a vehicle or piece of construction equipment not visible to the operators, either by line of sight or indirectly by mirrors. Discuss the “Circle of Safety” around equipment and vehicles; Use of spotters; Maintain eye contact with equipment operators; Use of hand signals. • Runovers and Backovers: Remain alert at all times; Keep a safe distance from traffic; Avoid turning your back to traffic and if you must then use a spotter; Stay behind protective barriers, whenever possible. Note: It is not safe to sit on or lean against a concrete barrier, these barriers can deflect 4+ feet when struck by a vehicle. • Look out for each other, warn co-workers • Be courteous to motorists • Do not run across active roadways • Workers must obey traffic laws and drive courteously while operating vehicles in the work zones. • Workers must be made aware of company distracted driving policies ⏹ Night Time Operations: Focus should be placed on projects with a nighttime element. ⏹ Traffic Control Training: Basics of Traffic Control. • Identify Work Zone Traffic Control Supervisor and other appropriate persons to report issues to when they arise. • Work Zone Traffic Control Devices must be in clean and in undamaged condition.   • Contractor Work Hours and Safety Standards Contractor shall ensure compliance with all safety and hourly requirements for employees, in accordance with federal, state, and County safety and health regulations and laws.

  • Minimum Requirements Consultant shall, at its expense, procure and maintain for the duration of the Agreement insurance against claims for injuries to persons or damages to property which may arise from or in connection with the performance of the Agreement by the Consultant, its agents, representatives, employees or subconsultants. Consultant shall also require all of its subconsultants to procure and maintain the same insurance for the duration of the Agreement. Such insurance shall meet at least the following minimum levels of coverage:

  • CONTRACT WORK HOURS AND SAFETY STANDARDS As per the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 3701-3708), where applicable, all Customer Purchase Orders in excess of ,000 that involve the employment of mechanics or laborers must include a provision for compliance with 40 U.S.C. 3702 and 3704, as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR Part 5). Under 40 U.S.C. 3702 of the Act, each contractor must be required to compute the wages of every mechanic and laborer on the basis of a standard work week of 40 hours. Work in excess of the standard work week is permissible provided that the worker is compensated at a rate of not less than one and a half times the basic rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in the work week. The requirements of 40 U.S.C. 3704 are applicable to construction work and provide that no laborer or mechanic must be required to work in surroundings or under working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous. These requirements do not apply to the purchases of supplies or materials or articles ordinarily available on the open market, or contracts for transportation or transmission of intelligence.

  • Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act For any federally assisted contract, in excess of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), that involves the employment of mechanics or laborers, the contractor, subcontractor, subrecipient shall comply with all of the requirements of the Contract work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 3702 and 3704), as supplemented by Department of Labor Regulations (29 CFR Part 5). Xxxx Anti-Lobbying Amendment (31 U.S.C. 1352) - Contractors that apply or bid for an award exceeding one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) must file the required certification. Each tier certifies to the tier above that it will not and has not used Federal appropriated funds to pay any person or organization for influencing or attempting to influence an officer or employee of any agency, a member of Congress, officer or employee of Congress, or an employee of a member of Congress in connection with obtaining any Federal contract, grant or any other award covered by 31 U.S.C. 1352. Each tier must also disclose any lobbying with non-Federal funds that takes place in connection with obtaining any Federal award. Such disclosures are forwarded from tier to tier up to the non-Federal award.
