Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. Section 1: Employees appointed or elected to a Local 517M Union Office shall be eligible for unpaid leaves of absence during tenure in office. Seniority of the employees shall not accumulate during leaves of absence under the above conditions.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. Leaves of absence for reasons other than those listed in this Agreement may be granted for no more than one (1) year in duration to tenured unit members, at the discretion of the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. A. In addition to other unpaid leaves of absence in Article VIII - Leaves of Absence, an unpaid leave of absence may be granted to an Instructional Employee for other reasons satisfactorily justified to the Board.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. (a) Eligibility for the following leaves is determined as established by Alberta Employment Standards and as outlined below.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. Unpaid leaves of absence or time off without pay for any reason other than those provided for in this Article shall not be granted unless recommended by the Division Head, Chief of HCI and approved by the Superintendent of Schools.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. In the sole and exclusive discretion of the Board, a tenured teacher, upon application, may be granted an unpaid leave of absence of up to one (1) year for the following reasons: to participate full-time in an exchange teaching program in other school districts, states, territories, or countries or foreign or military teaching programs; to participate in the Peace Corps, Teacher Corps, or Job Corps; to serve as a consultant or director of a teacher center; to engage in study at an accredited college or university; or for an extended disability after ninety (90) consecutive school days of absence, or 90 out of 120 intermittent days of absence. Requests for such discretionary unpaid leaves shall be made in accordance with Section 5.0 of this Article and shall be subject to all of the terms and conditions set forth in Section 5.0
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. With respect to Alberta legislated job protected leaves, the Employer will adhere to the minimum provisions of Alberta Employment Standards as may be amended from time to time.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. Other unpaid leaves of absence may be granted to employees at the discretion of the Employer on an individual basis.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. 1. Time taken for any unpaid leaves of absence including maternity, parenthood, or unpaid sick leave, etc. shall not accrue toward those benefits requiring certain periods of employment such as wage increments, vacation and sick leave. Seniority shall not accumulate while an Employee is on an unpaid leave.
Other Unpaid Leaves of Absence. An Employee shall be granted other unpaid leaves of absence with job protection in accordance with Bill 17: The Fair and Family-Friendly Workplaces Act, Alberta. Requests for such leave(s) must be made in writing to the Chief of Human Resources or designate.
