Other Long Term Leaves. Principals may apply for other long-term leaves of absence without pay, which may be granted at the discretion of the Employer. Examples of requests for such leaves would include leave for further professional education, to serve in public office, to participate in a teacher exchange program, to serve as an elected officer or staff member of a state or national professional organization, or for extenuating personal circumstances. The precise terms and conditions of any leave of absence granted under this paragraph shall be determined on an individual basis.

  • Long Term Leaves a. A unit member may be granted a leave of absence, with or without pay, by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent or designee for a period not to exceed one (1) year when such action is not contrary to the best interests of the District.
