Any information listed above that is not included in the employee’s request for sick leave pay during an extended leave of absence may be cause for not granting the leave, or for granting the leave without pay.

Employees, who are excused from jury service or court appearance before the end of their workday, shall immediately report their availability for assignment to their supervisor. All jury and witness fees, except mileage and meals received by the employee, shall be turned over to the County.

A teacher subpoenaed in a judicial proceeding, other than a proceeding in which the Board (or the school District) and the Association are opposing parties and the teacher is subpoenaed by the Association, shall receive from the Board the difference between his/her base salary as computed on a daily basis and the daily witness fee paid by the court for each day on which he/she reports pursuant to the subpoena and on which he/she would otherwise have been scheduled to work.

Upon being excused from jury or witness duty for any day an employee shall immediately contact his/her supervisor for assignment for the remainder of that workday. Time off from work for appearances in court and other proceedings other than as provided above, shall be charged to accrued vacation, compensatory time or leave without pay.
Other Leaves of Absence With Pay. 10.1 The Committee will grant five (5) consecutive school days, not to exceed eight (8) calendar days, leave with pay if a death occurs in the immediate family of the Administrator. Immediate family for these purposes shall be defined as: spouse, parent, guardian, grandparent, brother or sister, son or daughter, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, father-in-law or mother-in- law, son-in-law or daughter-in-law, grandchild, or other relative residing within the household of the Administrator. The Committee will grant one (1) school day leave with pay upon the death of an administrator’s aunt or uncle.
