Other Additional Compensation. 199. On-the-job and Ride-Along Training. Employees assigned to perform on- the-job training for other employees in their classification shall receive a training premium of $3.00 per hour but such premium shall be payable only for days and hours actually worked. Employees who have volunteered to perform ride-along training for 9163 Transit Operators shall receive the $3.00 per hour premium for the days and hours actually worked on such assignment.

In situations where the City is paid for inspecting food facilities at professional football or weekend or evening baseball games, employees in classifications 6120 and 6122 who volunteer or are assigned to work a professional football or weekend or evening baseball game shall receive a premium of $225 for work performed, irrespective of the number of hours actually worked. Because these classifications are designated as “Z” classes, no overtime compensation shall accrue. The $225 premium is compensation in lieu of any overtime or compensatory time. Sign-up for inspection assignments shall be distributed first on a voluntary, rotational basis, beginning with the most senior 6122, and proceeding to the most senior 6120. If there is an insufficient level of staffing being provided by volunteers, management retains the right of assignment.

This amount has been calculated by the parties to represent approximately 45 minutes per day or 5.25 hours of overtime per week paid at one and one-half times the hourly rate of the federal minimum wage. This extra compensation is not to be considered base pay, premium pay, nor shall it be included for purposes of retirement benefit calculations or contributions. In addition, members shall be reimbursed for canine related expenses in the amount of $100.00 per month, calculated by the parties to represent food and other expenses reasonably and customarily incurred in the maintenance and care of the dog. This reimbursement is non receipted.
Other Additional Compensation. Additional compensation for evening (2nd shift), night (3rd shift) and weekend shift, Bus License, Crew Chief, Black Seal License, and service adjustment shall be compensated as part of the salary for both pension and overtime purposes.
