Common use of Opening Negotiations Clause in Contracts

Opening Negotiations. Upon written request of either party for a meeting to open negotiations, a mutually acceptable meeting date shall be set in compliance with the timelines established by Act 195 and Act 88 of 1992. The Association shall submit its initial proposal containing all issues proposed for discussion to representatives of the Board at the first bargaining session. The Board’s representatives shall submit in writing to the teacher representative(s) all additional issues upon which it wishes to negotiate at the second meeting. The second meeting shall be no more than fifteen (15) working days after the initial meeting, and all subsequent meetings shall be called at times mutually agreed to by the parties. “Working days” shall be defined as any day the District Office is open for business; therefore, in order for the Association to be aware of such days, the Administration shall provide at the beginning of each school year a list of days that the District Office will be closed.
