The design of the station could vary considerably depending on the type and number of industrial sources for the CO2 stream, ranging from a single large source to many small and different sources. The station would also contain metering equipment. • Compressor station(s), B on Figure 1.1. This consists of compressors to boost the pressure of the CO2 stream to meet the minimum pressure required for transport all along the pipeline. • Pipelines, C on Figure 1.1 and Figure 1.2. Used to transport the CO2 stream from the station to the offshore storage site. May have connections to allow branching of pipelines and valves to control the flow of the CO2.
