On Call/Call Back. A. Some University departments maintain formal on-call systems in order to cover off- hour shifts or to assure appropriate response to incidents and emergencies which occur at night or on weekends. Professional staff are assigned specific periods of duty, must be available during assigned duty, and must respond when called. For these situations, on-call and call-back shall be considered a single entity. A salary adjustment shall be made to acknowledge the additional expectation of serving regularly as part of a formal on-call/call-back system. Compensatory time for call-back shall be approved by the supervisor only in those instances when the employee must respond to a situation that requires work for a prolonged period of time (i.e., several hours during a night). The supervisor's discretion prevails in these cases.

On Call/Call Back. Section 1. Employees shall be paid one (1) hour of pay at the regular straight time rate for each six (6) hours of assigned on-call duty. Employees who are assigned on-call duty for less than six (6) hours shall be paid on a prorated basis.

On Call/Call Back. The Senior Inspector will be on-call for one (1) week intervals beginning at 0800 hours on a Wednesday and continuing until 0800 hours the following Wednesday. During the on-call interval, the employee must be ready to immediately report for duty and must arrange so that a supervisor can reach the employee within ten (10) minutes or less. A County vehicle may be used and driven home during the on-call interval, and must be used in compliance with the County Vehicle Use Policy.
