Common use of OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES Clause in Contracts

OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES. OF THE OWNER NOT TO HAVE FINANCIAL INTEREST IN ANY CONTRACT OF THE OWNER No officer or employee of the Owner shall have a financial interest, direct or indirect, in any Contract with the Owner, or be financially interested, directly or indirectly, in the sale to the Owner of any land, materials, supplies or services, except on behalf of the Owner as an officer or employee. Any violation of this article shall constitute malfeasance in office, and any officer or employee of Owner guilty thereof shall thereby forfeit his office or position. Any violation of this section, with the knowledge, express or implied, of the person, persons, partnership, company, firm, association or corporation contracting with the Owner shall render the Contract involved voidable by the Owner's City Manager or City Council.
