Offering of Overtime. The offering of overtime is as follows: to employees who have posted into or have been assigned to the department (except students), if is it not covered it will then be offered bargaining unit wide to persons who possess the immediate skills required to perform the work and lastly to students who possess the immediate skills required to perform the work. Overtime and extra time shall be distributed equitably among the employees willing and able to perform the available overtime work.
Offering of Overtime. (a) After the schedule has been posted and additional tours have been offered in accordance with E.9 any shifts attracting premium pay shall be offered first to regular part-time nurses, then to job sharers on the unit on the basis of seniority, then to full-time nurses on the unit on the basis of seniority. (b) Overtime resulting from an unplanned event (with less than 3 hours’ notice) can be offered on a seniority basis to the nurses at work on the unit at the time.
Offering of Overtime. When all part-time staff have their maximum allotted hours overtime will be offered in order of seniority to available full-time staff.
Offering of Overtime. Overtime will be offered to qualified employees within the classification where the work is required according to the procedures: A. On each occasion, the initial opportunity to work overtime will be offered to the employee within the job classification within the primary division who has the least amount of overtime hours to his credit. The employee may refuse the overtime. If the employee refuses the overtime or fails to work it, the hours will be recorded and be part of the employee’s credited overtime hours, as if worked. The overtime will then be offered to the employee within the job classification within the primary division with the next least amount of overtime hours. Hours offered will be charged. B. After offering the opportunity under part A, the next overtime will be offered to employees within the applicable job classification within other divisions. C. In the event sufficient employees do not accept the overtime assignment, the City may direct available employees to work the overtime using a rotation list established at the beginning of Winter Shifts, with the least overtime recorded hours employee in the applicable job classification in the division. The list will be averaged at the beginning of Winter Shifts each year. D. In the event sufficient employees cannot be assigned under part C, the City will direct employees to work the overtime beginning with the least overtime recorded hours employee in the applicable job classification in another division using a rotation list. The list will be reset at the end of Winter Shifts each year. Such overtime will be recorded as overtime hours in the employee’s records. E. The City will not be obligated to call an employee for overtime when the employee on the day of the offer has reported off for any of the following reasons: 1. Sick leave 2. Vacation, compensatory time, personal holiday, unless authorized by the employee in the written form and submitted to the City. 3. Authorized or unauthorized leave (one day or more, as well as any portion of a day). 4. Hours available will be charged for any reason he/she is not available for overtime. F. At the end of Winter Shifts each succeeding year of this Agreement, overtime hours will be offered in order of seniority to qualified employees in the classification using the system set forth in Sections A-E. Offering of Overtime. G.1 When offering overtime hours and/or an overtime shift, such hours/shift shall be offered in the following order, based on seniority and qualifications: Overtime is defined as when nurses have been scheduled beyond seventy-five (75) hours in a pay period. 1) Full-time nurses on the Unit 2) Regular Part-time nurses on the Unit 3) Full-time nurses from other Units 4) Regular Part-time nurses from other Units 5) Casual nurses If there is a nurse scheduled for standby, and patient care is required beyond the end of scheduled shifts, the standby nurse will be utilized. Prior to resorting to scheduling nurses for “double shifts”, the Hospital may offer four (4) hour shifts and/or extend the start or end time of the shifts.

Offering of Overtime. 13.01 Scheduled overtime opportunities will be awarded/assigned to the employees on the machine, equipment operated or job performed that week. Scheduled overtime opportunities may be mandated. The exception to this would be coverage for unexpected absences. Refused hours will only be tracked for posted overtime opportunities except in the case of Maintenance call-ins. Refused hours will be charged against an employee for any hours they could have worked that they did not sign up for. These hours charged will only be for the machine, equipment operated, or job performed by the operator in that current week. 13.02 To facilitate this, a list of employees by skill and shift will be prepared. This list will be updated weekly with overtime hours worked and refused for each employee. The list will show known overtime availability for the following week based on scheduled absences but not including unplanned absences. 13.03 This procedure will replace all current overtime procedures and will apply to all continuous and non-continuous operations in Manufacturing, Maintenance and Materials. 13.04 Hours worked is defined as actual hours of overtime worked and paid, or equivalent paid hours for time refused. 13.05 The intent of the procedure is to allow for more consistent offering of overtime and not to change any contractual agreements. It is agreed that Union and the Company will meet monthly after implementation of this procedure to assess and address appropriately any issues with the procedure. These meetings will become less frequent as issues pertaining to overtime become resolved. 13.06 Available overtime will be posted on Tuesdays (Wednesdays in the event of a week for which a statutory holiday falls). The job posting will be removed on Thursday at 9am and all awarded overtime shall be posted no later than 3pm on that same Thursday. This posting will cover Monday through Sunday of the FOLLOWING week to allow adequate time for both signing up and notification of scheduled overtime for employees.
Offering of Overtime a) In all cases where overtime hours are equal between two or more employees within the home position/shift the company will allocate overtime on the basis of the senior person being asked first. b) Posted employees who are eligible for overtime will be first offered all available overtime within their home posi- tion/shift, except in the case of a utility person who was assigned the job for the week. Such utility person who was averaged into the group will be allowed to work the overtime in the home position on the shift that they have worked through the normal work week provided all shifts are scheduled for overtime. employees working out- side their home position on a key job must be offered overtime within their home position/shift at this step (see article 19.09).
