Objectives of Cultural Heritage Management Plan. The objectives of the CHMP are to:  Outline practices to ensure all significant Aboriginal Heritage Sites within BHP Billiton Iron Ore tenure within the traditional lands of the Banjima People are managed.  Outline the means by which the Banjima People have the opportunity to be actively involved in the protection and management of Heritage places.  Outline the BHP Billiton Iron Ore process for the management of all heritage places.  Summarise the management strategies for the BHP Billiton Iron Ore heritage place categories - Agreement Exclusion Zones (Agreement Areas, Rights reserved and Rights Reserve with special rules), External Protected Areas (Section 19 Protected Area), Actively Managed Areas, and Section 5 Heritage Sites.  Delineate the standard internal protection measures (PEAHR’s).  Outline the proposed Section 18 process in the event that any Aboriginal Heritage Sites cannot be practically avoided.  Outline the mitigation and salvage proposals for those Aboriginal Heritage Sites that cannot be practically avoided.  Outline the Cultural Materials Management Plan (CMMP) – management of salvaged materials In addition this CHMP outlines specific management strategies for eight (8) significant sites that are considered to be BHP Billiton Iron Ore Actively Managed Areas.
