Normal Work Day and Work Week. The normal work day shall consist of the hours per day specified in the applicable Unit Agreement. The normal work week or tour of duty shall consist of the hours per week or tour of duty specified in the applicable Unit Agreement. However, nothing contained herein shall be construed as a guarantee of those amounts of hours of work or pay per work day or work week or tour of duty. The Employer expressly reserves the right to close any part of the Employer for individual days in a given week for an entire week or weeks. It is likewise understood and agreed that the starting and quitting times for all or individual employees may be staggered to provide the needed coverage. The Employer reserves the right to reduce certain or all classifications or to reduce the hours worked in one or all classifications. The Employer reserves the right to change an employee’s work shift when such is warranted due to operational necessities.

The normal work day and work week for employees assigned to 24-hour shifts shall be 24 consecutive hours of work (one shift) followed by 48 consecutive hours off (two shifts). Twenty-four hour shifts shall start and end at 8:00 a.m. In lieu of holidays and to reduce the average work week, every ninth shift shall normally be scheduled off (i.e., Xxxxxx days). The normal work day and work week for employees assigned to 7.5-hour shifts shall be 37.5 hours based on five 7.5-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, excluding any unpaid lunch period that may be scheduled. Such 7.5-hour shifts shall fall between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Normal Work Day and Work Week. This Section is intended to provide a basis for calculating overtime and is not to be construed as a guarantee or a limitation on the number of hours of work per day or per week scheduled or required by the Employer. Should the Employer reduce an employee's position from full-time to part-time, the Employer and the Union shall, at the request of the Union pursuant to the Labor-Management Conferences provisions of this Agreement, meet and confer as to what other employment positions in the bargaining unit are available. Any covered employee whose position is reduced from full-time to part-time, who declines to accept such reduction, shall be laid-off. The normal work day shall consist of eight and one-half (8-1/2) consecutive hours, except for telecommunicators, community service officers and full-time Police Records Techs I and II, it shall consist of eight (8) consecutive hours; and for part-time employees there shall be no normal workday. The work week shall commence at 12:00 a.m. Sunday and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. the following Saturday.
Normal Work Day and Work Week. The normal work day/work week configuration of all employees covered by this Agreement shall consist of five (5) full shifts of eight and one half (8 ½) hours each within each seven (7) calendar day period. The seven (7) calendar days shall begin with each employee’s regularly scheduled day of work. Each full shift as defined herein shall include lunch and a rest period as provided for in Subd. 3, of this section.

Shifts shall commence at 0700 and end at 0700 the following day. Effective January 1, 2006, a Xxxxx xxx shall be scheduled every fourteenth (14th) duty day with appropriate scheduling changes such that it will not cause the City to incur additional FLSA overtime. Effective January 1, 2006, the employees’ straight time hourly rate shall be based on 2713.29 annual hours. Effective January 1, 2016, a Xxxxx xxx shall be scheduled every Thirteenth (13th) duty day with appropriate scheduling changes such that it will not cause the City to incur additional FLSA overtime. Effective January 1, 2016, the employees’ straight time hourly rate shall be based on 2695.44 annual hours.

Employees assigned to 24-hour shifts shall receive one work reduction day scheduled off every sixteenth (16) duty day, thereby reducing the normal work week to an average of 52.5 hours. Beginning January 1, 2018, employees assigned to 24-hour shifts shall receive one work reduction day scheduled off every fifteenth (15) duty day, thereby reducing the normal work week to an average of 52.3 hours. Beginning January 1, 2019, employees assigned to 24-hour shifts shall receive one work reduction day scheduled off every fourteenth (14) duty day, thereby reducing the normal work week to an average of 52 hours. For FLSA purposes employees shall receive twelve (12) hours off each work cycle to be scheduled back to back to equal one twenty- four (24) hour shift. Work reduction days shall be unpaid. The sequence of employees' work reduction days on each shift shall be scheduled so that no more than one employee is scheduled off on a work reduction day on any given 24-hour duty shift.
