Nine Day Fortnight. ‌ Employees shall be allowed to compress the ten-day two-week work period. The hours of work for Administrative Assistant and Executive Assistant shall total seventy (70) hours per two-week period assigned over nine (9) days. Regular paid hours assigned in any one day shall not exceed eight (8).

Nine Day Fortnight. ‌ 12.2.1 Applications for a nine day fortnight must not produce any additional cost, (i.e. overtime, additional staffing requirements or fringe benefit costs) or noticeable reduction in service from the level of service rendered as at the time of application and must also consider the: a) operations of the College; b) needs of the Department; and c) desires of employees. 12.2.2 Employees will work 7-3/4 hours each regularly scheduled work day in every 2 week period. 12.2.3 A year is defined as a calendar year and divided into 26 fortnight periods. 12.2.4 Employees are entitled to a maximum of 24 fortnight days off in each year. There will be 2 biweekly periods each year in which no fortnight days off will be scheduled. 12.2.5 Employees on the fortnight system for less than 26 biweekly periods in a year will have their fortnight days off prorated. For example, employees on the fortnight system for 22 biweekly periods will receive 20.3 fortnight days off. 12.2.6 The biweekly periods in which there are no fortnight days off may normally be scheduled at a time that takes into consideration the needs of the department and the desires of employees. The preferred periods, if other periods have not been agreed to, are the biweekly periods overlapping Christmas and Easter. 12.2.7 Scheduled days off, 1 every 2 weeks, will preferably be Monday or Friday, or any other day taking into consideration the operations of the College, the needs of the department and the desires of the employees. 12.2.8 Overtime rates will apply for authorized work performed in excess of 7-3/4 hours per day, excluding time worked when making up time owed by employees. 12.2.9 Supervisors will post work schedules for employees. 12.2.10 Supervisors are responsible for keeping accurate records of employee overtime and time owed to and by employees. 12.2.11 Neither acting capacity nor shift differentials will be paid if the higher level of work performed or hours of work are directly due to the nine day fortnight. 12.2.12 When employees are receiving Workers' Compensation Board benefits, they will have no entitlement to fortnight days off during the period of absence. 12.2.13 Sick Leave will be calculated in hours. Nine Day Fortnight. The standard hours of work will not exceed 36.25 hour per week (Monday to Friday) over a 9 day fortnight. The maximum ordinary hours that can be worked per day are 8 hours 3 minutes. However, other patterns of work may be worked by Mutual Agreement between the parties at a particular place of work. The guidelines for these arrangements will be developed in accordance with the flexibility clause of this Agreement. In order to meet operational and work requirements, the daily spread of hours for day working employees, provided for in this Agreement on an ordinary work day (6.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday), may be increased by Mutual Agreement to an additional one hour at either the commencement or finish of the ordinary work day. This will result in the daily ‘spread of hours’ being increased to cover a period of either 5.00am until 6.30pm or 6.00am to 7.30pm. The ordinary working hours may then be worked between these times, Monday to Friday inclusive with a break of not more than one hour and not less than thirty minutes for a meal.

Nine Day Fortnight. Subject to the provision of Aqwest Board Policy 2.10, the ordinary hours of work shall be 76 hours per fortnight worked over nine days, Monday to Friday and between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm. In such cases: (i) Ordinary hours shall be 8.5 hours on eight days with one day of 8 hours, or nine days of 8.44 hours per day. (ii) Employees shall be granted one Rostered Day Off each fortnight. (iii) Employees may elect to take time in lieu if required to work during ordinary hours on a Rostered Day Off. (iv) Employees may accumulate a maximum of six (6) days in lieu. (v) Employees are entitled to one day in lieu if a Public Holiday falls on a Rostered Day Off.

Nine Day Fortnight. 8.1.5.1 Technical Staff, Assistant Instructors and Faculty Employees who have no assigned student contact hours, may, with the agreement of the Union and the Manager, arrange their hours so as to result in a nine-day fortnight. 8.1.5.2 When establishing the hours of work, the Employees concerned and the Manager shall be guided by the following:

Nine Day Fortnight. The ordinary hours of work will be 1976 per annum (inclusive of all categories of leave). The typical hours of work is achieved on the basis of working nine 8.44 hour weekdays each fortnight. The tenth weekday of the fortnight being an unpaid rostered day off. The rostered day off will be every second Monday of the pay period fortnight. On a public holiday Monday the rostered day off will move to the next working day. The Shire of Mundaring by agreement with the relevant work team employees can request those employees to work a rostered day off by notice generally no later than the Thursday finish time prior to the rostered day off. Such requests shall not be unreasonably refused and individual circumstances shall be considered in formulating the required work team to work on a rostered day off. Rostered days off worked can be banked by the Shire of Mundaring up to 3 in number and are to be taken on either the following Monday or Christmas leave period or Easter leave period or such other time as agreed with the Service Manager.

Nine Day Fortnight. 8.1.5.1 Technical Staff, Assistant Instructors and Faculty Employees who have no assigned student contact hours may, with the agreement of the Union and the Manager, arrange their hours so as to result in a nine-day fortnight. 8.1.5.2 When establishing the hours of work, the Employees concerned and the Manager shall be guided by the following: 8.1.5.2.1 Service shall not be diminished or diluted; 8.1.5.2.2 A three (3) month trial period shall be implemented; 8.1.5.2.3 If either party, at the end of the three (3) month trial period, deems that the nine-day fortnight has diminished or diluted service, then the nine-day fortnight shall be abandoned. Hours of work will then be as before the trial period. 8.1.5.2.4 Any nine-day fortnight system which has passed the trial period above shall be subject to reassessment once each academic year thereafter. Continuance of the system is contingent upon service being maintained at appropriate levels.

Nine Day Fortnight. Notwithstanding subclause 22.1, where the Employee requests and the Employer approves, an Employee may work a nine (9) day fortnight.

Nine Day Fortnight. Notwithstanding subclause 10.2 of this clause, from the date of registration of this General Agreement, access to nine day fortnight arrangements as prescribed by this subclause is not available unless currently in operation in work or occupational groups, in which case those arrangements may continue. New employees joining these groups may also work a nine-day fortnight.
